The 2025 Empire State Winter Games is an exhilarating multi-day competition set to take place in Lake Placid, New York, from January 30 – February 2, 2025. This highly anticipated event will bring together athletes from across New York State and beyond to compete in over 22 thrilling winter sports disciplines.

Opening Ceremony

Kick off the 2025 Empire State Winter Games with an unforgettable Opening Ceremony at the iconic 1980 Arena in the Lake Placid Olympic Center. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. celebrates the start of this premier winter sports event!



Sports & Venues

The competition unfolds across multiple locations, featuring an exciting lineup of events:

• Lake Placid, NY – Home to a wide range of competitions, including Adaptive Bobsled, Ski Orienteering, Adaptive Biathlon, Alpine Skiing (NYSSRA U16 & U19), Cross Country, Figure Skating, Girls U12 & U14 Hockey, Long Track Speed Skating, Biathlon, Junior Bobsled, Luge, Short Track Speed Skating, and Skeleton.

• Whiteface Mountain, Wilmington, NY – Experience the thrill of Freestyle Moguls, Adaptive Alpine, and Ski & Snowboard Cross.

• Tupper Lake, NY – Hosting Sled Hockey, the Winter Sprint Triathlon, and Winter Bike Racing.

• Paul Smiths, NY – Rounding out the competition with the Snowshoe event in a scenic winter setting.
