The Marble Mountain Chalet was everything we were looking for and more. The view was great and the place was spotless. When we arrived the wolves were howling next door, it was quite the reveal. As a group of cyclists, climbers, and hikers this rentals location was fantastic- close to all activities. We had fires in the firepit three nights of our stay and the teenagers especially liked the hot tub. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking. The location was convenient to everything, yet felt very private and secluded and peaceful. The only thing that would have made our week perfect, would have been if it hadn't rained so much.

From the start Todd was friendly, accommodating, and available to our questions and needs. The cabin was fully equipped, super clean and was more than specious to accommodate our family of 11people. The area was very lovely and provided plenty of opportunities for those who wanted to discover the outdoors. For those of us who just wanted to relax we used the hot tub, sat by the fire & bathed in the sun. The swing downstairs was an amazing addition for those who wanted to grub a book or just relax outside. We can't wait to visit this place again maybe in the summer. This is our second time staying at the Marble Mountain Chalet. It has yet to disappoint. The amenities are perfect for a weekend or week-long stay. You're 3-minutes from Whiteface Mountain, steps from several hiking trails and fishing by the Ausable River and even a touch of wildlife at the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge. You will literally hear the call of wolves and coyotes from the hot tub! Don't worry, they're enclosed. The hot tub, steam shower and sauna are everything you need to refresh your muscles and bones from a long day around the mountain. There are ample places to pick up firewood to stoke the bonfire in the outdoor area. The owner and property managers are very interactive with you leading up to your stay to make sure you have everything you need - including the previous day's snow report. It was nice to have such a wonderful, pet-friendly space for our group. There are only a few small restaurants/bars in the area, so I recommend grocery/liquor store shopping before you arrive to ensure your fully-loaded kitchen is stocked. You'll find you won't want to leave anyway!

Let me preface this with, I've never gone to Lake Placid, or rented a cabin/house prior to this. With that said, I couldn't have started with something more welcoming. This home, and I say home because the feeling was exactly that. It wasn't sterile like a hotel room, we're in the woods, and the place felt absolutely organic. From the smell of wood outside the home to the beautiful pressed mud tabletop in the kitchen. There were subtle details that made me feel like people live in their and loved it. A small little wooden sculpture adorns the stairs to the basement. The sofa was slightly worn like a lot of time was spent hanging out around the living room. The beds were comfy and warm. Mind you, these are not complaints rather compliments of making the place feel like a home and not a hotel room. The kitchen was fully stocked with the necessary utensils to make a full turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, need be. My short two day stay prevented me from fully utilizing the kitchen but I will return and I will cook in this magnificent kitchen. The scenery from the home was absolutely gorgeous. At sunset, sitting on the deck and watching the sun shine through the trees just before it hides behind the mountains in the background is absolutely relaxing. The hot tub is in an equally well positioned area to do the same. The home is close to many different locations to visit, including a small hiking area with a waterfall in it and a wildlife sanctuary. The town further north has few stores but one supermarket hosts most of your needs. And don't let the steely nature of the ladies behind the deli counter fool you, they have a wicked sense of humor.Lastly, I wanted to mention that if you wake up in the early hours, you'll be treated to the eerie howling of the wolves(remember that animal sanctuary), it's not one or two, but rather a chorus of them that will bring chills to your spine. It was spectacular to wake to them, albeit a little surprising when I was staying there. All in all, it's an absolutely unforgettable experience and for sure will be a repeated visit for me and my family in the future.

The home was situated in a beautiful parkland area that in the middle of nature (mountains, lakes, rivers). It was absolutely beautiful!!! It was close enough to Lake Placid for easy access but far enough away to really enough the outdoors. We thought we would go into Lake Placid for a number of meals but the home was so comfortable that we ended up eating there all but one time. The home looks brand new and it is really well maintained. It was large with 4 bedrooms all with king size beds and lots of space. The open ceiling kitchen - living room really set the home off. We spent most of our time here socializing as the food was prepared. Everything was there to make many memorable meals. The hot tube was very popular after spending the days out enjoying the countryside. We had great views of the mountains and forest. After enjoying beautiful sunsets over the mountains we were captivated by the amazing display of stars. There were so many more things to do than we originally thought and we ran out of time before we could even get half way through our list. The drive up Whiteface mountain gave us some amazing views for miles in every direction. There were also a number of different trails to the gorges that run along the Ausable river that make a great day outdoors! So many trails to hike and enjoy the scenery. Probably the most interesting place we visited were the wildlife refuge that was close to the house. They had a number of wolves, coyotes and many eagles and other large birds. The home is a perfect place to meet up with friends and family. It is a great get-away from the craziness of the city. I would recommend it and we plan to come back soon. Marie and Don

Kitchen was a delight to prepare meals in for 'foodies' like us and a snap to clean up . The deck has wonderful views of the mountains, MASSIVE fire pit and lush forests. Can't imagine how spectacular the views must be when Fall is in full glory, because they were pretty amazing even in early September. All was exactly as described and actually exceeded our expectations. The house is perfectly located 5 minutes from Whiteface. All the amenities were in perfect working order and the kitchen had every pan, gadget, or utensil we could need. We were lucky enough to get fresh snow, but this provided substatial road noise as the plows went by several times during the night. The house is closer to the road then we expected (a good thing when you consider managing icy upstate driveways). Without the plows the road noise was negligible. Though the house is very well stocked with towels, sheets and soaps, renters should know not to expect ANY food items icluding basics such as cooking oil and sugar. I don't think this is a fault. In fact I'm sure it helps to keep things neat and tidy, but is helpful to know ahead of time. Both the owner and property manager were available for questions and were tremendously helpful in planning our stay. We did not eat out on this trip, but the house is conveniently located to restaurants in Wilmington and a short drive into Lake Placid. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning this summer.

This home is located in a prime spot to go to Whiteface Mountain mountain biking, numerous hiking areas, great white water rafting and Lake Placid for bobsled and luge. Activities for all age groups.an animal sanctuary is down the road and some nights you can hear the wolves howling. The hot tub is a great way to unwind after busy days. A great home with something for everyone. The owners were great with suggestions and called the first day to check on everything. You can tell they care about their homes and try to make your vacation a memorial one.

The owners and the leasing agent were both helpful and attentive. I appreciated a phone call from the owner once we arrived to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves and telling me a little more about the area. The home was exceptionally and perfectly clean. Our favorite features of the home were the dry sauna, steam sauna, fireplace, and the location. We made a couple trips into Lake Placid to buy groceries at The Green Goddess, a great place to shop for fresh organic produce. Our experience at Marble Mountain Chalet was great!

This property was the perfect gathering spot for our family this fall. We had a fantastic and relaxed vacation while enjoying all the comforts of a five star resort. The house is conveniently located and accommodates large groups but also offers privacy for couples. The view from the deck is spectacular and the outside fire pit with Adirondack chairs was very impressive. The family enjoyed wine and s'mores after a fun day of watching the Olympic bobsled races, attending the Flaming Leaves Festival, hiking and shopping in nearby Lake Placid. The beautiful décor is well suited for the Adirondack location and creates a warm and cozy atmosphere. The bedrooms and baths are spacious, spotless and well designed. There is a sauna downstairs as well as an outdoor hot tub. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with every utensil needed to prepare and serve meals for a large group. There is a washer and dryer located on the main floor to alleviate packing extra clothing. This house offers comfortable beds, flat screen TVs in all bedrooms, and high speed internet connections. We will definitely recommend this rental to all of our friends and look forward to another visit during the winter. The owners put a so much thought into this home and it was a pleasure to stay here. Thanks to Todd and Kim for offering such fantastic properties. You will never be disappointed when renting any of their homes. What a gem in the Adirondacks! You may not want to leave.

The rooms were all nice sizes, the beds were great, the towels & linens were plentiful & in great shape. The kitchen was unbelievable! It's advertised as a gourmet kitchen & that is accurate. The location was very convenient to shopping, skiing Whiteface , hiking trails & restaurants. When we return to the Adirondacks for some more hiking I will definitely want to stay at Marble Mt. This is a very comfortable home for a couple or a large group. It is spacious and very well maintained. The two story wall of windows across the back give a stunning view of the mountains as the light changes throughout the day. Nothing says togetherness like gathering around a roaring fire in the very large firepit out back. Comfortable chairs around the pit invite guests to talk over the day's activities while making s'mores and winding down. With the living room and kitchen sharing a two story ceiling, "spacious' is an understatement to describe the common areas. Bedrooms on three different levels give privacy for any sized group. The full sized washer and dryer help to cut down on the amount of clothing anyone needs to bring. That is a real plus with the baggage fees charged by airlines and room available in vehicles for personal gear. The house was well stocked with necessities. All was just as represented to us by the agent. The kitchen was very well appointed with every utensil needed to cook even a gourmet meal. Someone put a lot of thought into the location for this house. It is convenient to local amenities but far enough out to provide the true mountain experience most people are looking for. I would highly recommend this house to my family but, more importantly, I would highly recommend it to my best friend.

The house is beautiful and the beds so comfortable. The area is breathtaking. The difficulty we had was the lack of air conditioning or windows that could provide at least a cross breeze. This made it impossible to use the stove and oven as this increased the interior temperature. The temperature of the interior of the house averaged 88 degrees. After hiking etc. during the day we had trouble relaxing and hanging out in the common area as a family. While we understand the temperature does not usually get that high the house should have central air as even the bedrooms on the lower level were hot and humid. A high end rental home should provide comfort regardless. The rental agents were not helpful when we requested assistance and were rude on the phone. This is unfortunate as the beauty of the house and scenery was perfect. We will return to the area for further vacations, but will look for a home that provides air conditioning and rental agents that are geared towards accommodating guests.

Owner Response: Dear Traveler, Thank you for your review of our home. I apologize that you found parts of your stay lacking. As with most of the homes in the area, we do not offer central air conditioning but have added two air conditioner units to the upper level bedrooms as well as fans in all the bedrooms. Next year we are planning to add a large air conditioning unit in the living area of all of our homes as well. The details of the air conditioners and fans are very well detailed in our property description to ensure that guests may make an informed decision on where to spend their vacation. I apologize that you found members of our rental team rude. We take great pride in our homes and our customer service and it always disheartening to learn that a guest is unhappy with either of these.I believe you simply caught our team off guard when requesting to have a window closed at 10pm that you had just a few hours prior called to have opened. Again, I apologize that you found your stay lacking and wish you luck on your future travels.

The Kitchen is amazing. It has the best counter top layout that will allow everyone to sit around and enjoy a meal or a few drinks together. The beds are extremely comfortable. In fact we both said to each other that we slept better this week than we had in a long time. The steam shower and sauna were fantastic as well. It allowed us to warm up after a day in the cold snow. The Chalet is only 5 minutes away from Whiteface. So it is just a short drive back and forth for your winter activities. Why would you stay 20 minutes away in Lake Placid when this home is right here? You can't ask for much more. The views are incredible. The added fire pit outside is an added bonus. To be honest we will be back again soon. There is simply nothing better around. Period. Chris and Kami from KDH, NC

We recently had the great luck of staying at the Marble Mountain Chalet. We were dying in the heat of Washington this summer, so I called the owners to see if there were any cancellations at a nearby property they own that I found on this website. That property was booked, but he told me that construction on this property was just being finished and they were just accepting bookings. About a week later, we packed our car and headed to the Adirondacks. This house is well-constructed with very nice amenities throughout. The living/lounging area is open to the large kitchen, which has a beautiful and huge granite counter that must seat twelve or more people--great for large groups that want to eat and drink together. The appliances are obviously new and the kitchen is stocked with quality pots, pans, etc., not the cheap crap you often find at vacation rentals. The living room are is nicely furnished, as well as the bedrooms. Very nice deck, where we spent a lot time relaxing. The views are fantastic, not only from the deck, but also from the back of the house, which is comprised almost entirely of windows with views of the mountains and the valley. There were only three of us, but this house could easily and comfortably handle a large group. There are too many recreational activities to count. We did some hiking, as well as swimming and jumping off cliffs in a nearby river. There are also several decent restaurants in the area. This really is a great vacation rental. The owners have a couple other properties in the area and they really go out of their way to please you. We're looking forward to returning this winter to do some skiing and try out the sauna.
